Rio Tinto's community investment website www.ciwa.riotinto.com, was developed by Clarity specifically so the mining company could tell the stories about its many partnerships in WA.

It marks a significant step in Rio Tinto’s long-term focus and coordinate its community funding from its many Western Australian operations.

Clarity’s involvement began in 2001 with the branding and launch of the $2 million per annum Rio Tinto WA Future Fund, an innovative partnership program that was part of building a higher profile for the Rio Tinto name in Western Australia.

Since then Clarity has provided a wide range of public relations and design support, ranging from strategy development, establishing partnerships, launches and workshops, media relations and supporting some of the Fund’s partners to promote their important programs.

Most recently Clarity has assisted Rio Tinto with a comprehensive employment engagement program. This is aimed at encouraging and giving all employees the opportunity to participate in community programs and use a range of online tools built into the website and intranet, plus email campaigns. 

The focus of design materials ranging from reports to calendars has been to tell stories about the partnerships through the people involved in them or who are benefiting from the investment by Rio Tinto.
