The July opening ceremonies for Newcrest Mining’s $1.4 billion Telfer Project in the eastern Pilbara were project managed by Clarity. The Premier, Hon. Dr Geoff Gallop MLA officially opened the expanded gold and copper mine in front of 120 guests from around Australia.

Newcrest1As The Telfer Project is a remote fly-in fly-out mine site this event was a major logistical exercise and involved the use of chartered planes flying from Perth, Port Hedland and Newman to transport the guests to the site and back in one day.

Guests toured the mine site and processing plant and were able to see the giant open pit operations up close from a specially constructed viewing platform with information displays.

The official opening was followed by a lunch in the village mess hall, which Clarity transformed from a mining mess area into a first class dining room. Lunch consisted of food and drink using Western Australian produce and live entertainment from an Australian themed band.

Clarity’s design team produced all the event material including invitations, brochures, menus and relevant signage. Clarity also wrote and produced a commemorative DVD.
