For the third year running, Clarity has organised Gold Week – a national initiative to celebrate the social and economic importance of the gold industry in Australia.

Great Gold HuntHeld from 10 to 16 April 2005, Clarity coordinated a range of events for the Australian Gold Council to showcase a number of key industry areas from investment and mining to jewellery. The events attracted national media coverage in the press and on radio and television. 

The annual Australian Gold Forum in Perth was followed by the Gold Industry Dinner. A night of great food, wine and entertainment, the Gold Council’s Gold Company and Gold Supplier of the Year Awards were announced on the night. 

AngloGold Ashanti’s Designer Forum Brazil jewellery collection was showcased in a free, three-day exhibition at the Sydney Opera House. Officially opened with an exclusive cocktail launch,  more than 4,000 people viewed striking hand made pieces including a bra, mini-skirt and intricate head pieces. 

To cap off Gold Week, nine gold mines throughout the country opened their doors as part of Gold Mine Open Day. The event provided an opportunity for the general public to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the operations of a modern gold mine.  

Gold Mine Open Day also saw the winner of the online Great Gold Hunt competition dig up a $5,000 nugget at KCGM’s Superpit in Kalgoorlie.
